Graduands Invited to Register Online for Upcoming Convocation Sessions

The Sarawak Skills Group of Learning Institutions (Pusat Pembangunan Kemahiran Sarawak – PPKS) will be holding its twenty-third (23rd) Convocation in March 2021.

Commenting on the upcoming convocation, Mr. Hallman Sabri, Sarawak Skills’ Executive Director highlighted, “In total, about 800 graduates will receive their scrolls. The graduates, from various academic and skills programmes, have completed their studies at the certificate, diploma and bachelor’s degree level(s). Due to the COVID-19 pandemic and to safeguard the interests and well-being of our graduands, staff members and stakeholders, instead of one convocation session for all graduands, various convocation sessions will be held at Sarawak Skills, Tabuan Jaya, Kuching between 9 and 18 March 2021. Separate sessions will be held for our graduates in Miri (22 to 24 March 2021) and Mukah (29 and 30 March 2021). In this respect, we would like to invite our graduands to register online (konvokesyen.ppks.edu.my/web/) on or before 28 February 2021.”

Mr. Hallman also shared, “The Right Honourable Datuk Patinggi (Dr) Abang Haji Abdul Rahman Zohari bin Tun Datuk Abang Haji Openg, Chief Minister of Sarawak will officiate at a Special Session on 8 March 2021 at i-CATS University College, Jalan Stampin Timur, Kuching for the conferment of certificates, diplomas and bachelor’s degrees followed by the presentation of industry awards to selected graduates. Most graduands will observe the ceremony live through Sarawak Skills’ social media platforms. Indeed, there is much to celebrate – the achievements of our graduates, welcoming our Chief Minister as the First Chancellor of i-CATS University College and the official launch of i-CATS University College by the Chief Minister.”

Graduands who require more information about the upcoming convocation sessions are requested to contact Ms Arissa Vivianty binti Abdul Rahim, Registrar, Sarawak Skills (telephone no. 082-364198, e-mail: arissa@ppks.edu.my). Information can also be obtained from the Sarawak Skills website: www.ppks.edu.my.
