LAUNCHING OF OXY-FUEL GAS WELDING TRAINING

KUCHING: Sarawak Skills’ subsidiary company namely Automotive and Welding Institute of Sarawak (AWISAR) recently launched The Oxy-Fuel Gas Welding Training Programme.
The training programme is designed to increase the knowledge, skills and efficiency of the participants in conducting gas welding. At the end of the programme, the participants will be able to install gas welding equipment and perform Oxy-Acetylene Welding.
The first batch of participants comprises technical personnel from One Medicare Sdn. Bhd. The 3-day training programme which commenced on 2 September 2020 at AWISAR in Demak Laut will focuses on 20 percent theory and 80 percent Oxy Gas Welding practice.
The programme was launched by Sarawak Skills Executive Director, Mr. Hallman bin Haji Sabri and Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of One Medicare Sdn Bhd, Mr Sazali Tuah bin Neli on 2 September 2020.
According to Hallman bin Haji Sabri, Sarawak Skills and its group of institutions are actively proposing more up-skilling and reskilling training programmes to the industries in its quest to propagate lifelong learning.
“We have pioneered many skills enhancement programmes to facilitate workforce transformation and development to support the ever evolving needs of the industries and government in the area of human capital development,” said Hallman bin Haji Sabri during the ceremony.
Meanwhile, Sazali Tuah bin Neli said through this training programme, it would increase the knowledge, skills and expertise of their staff in maintaining the various types of Air-Conditioning Systems in line with One Medicare’s core value of Competence and to ensure that the company is able to provide quality services to its clients.
“Through our collaboration with Sarawak Skills, we will be sending more staff to embark on skills enhancement training. We want to strengthen our internal capacity to be able to provide better services to our customers,” he said.
Also present at the ceremony were General Manager of AWISAR, Ts. Jaidel bin Yakob, CFO of One Medicare Sdn Bhd, Mr. Eric Lim Swee Khoon, Acting Deputy Executive Director of Corporate Services Sarawak Skills, Amy Francis Najur, Management of One Medicare Sdn. Bhd. and others.
