Educational Talk: STEM

KUCHING: A total of 239 students from 10 high schools took part in Educational Talk on Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM) held on 7 September 2019 at Sarawak Skills (PPKS).
The programme was co-organized by Sarawak Skills (PPKS) and Sarawak Electronics and Supporting Industries Companies Association (SECA).
The objective of the programme was to educate the students about the important of STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics) and its role related to working environment requirement.
In his welcoming speech, Mr. Hallman bin Haji Sabri, Sarawak Skills Executive Director said “This programme should motivate students to go in-depth with STEM subjects especially changing the mindset of our students to be prepared of the challenges in facing the Digital Economy and IR 4.0.”
The implementation of STEM is related to TVET, therefore it is crucial for us to prepare the mindset of our students to make the IR 4.0 into a reality.”
Among the invited speakers from SECA are Mr. Senele Anak Intoh from Taiyo Yuden, Mr. Gavin Ong Zhi and Mr. Jonathan Anak Annuar from Western Digital, Miss Kristina Sim from X-FAB Sarawak Sdn. Bhd., and Mr. Aniq Hazwan bin Azlam and Mr. Syafiq bin Ismail from Murata Toko Sdn. Bhd.
