Registration Open for Fully Funded Certificate in Safety and Health Officer Programme at PPKS

Limited seats are available for the upcoming July and August 2019 intake(s) for the Certificate in Safety and Health Officer (CiSHO) programme at Pusat Pembangunan Kemahiran Sarawak (PPKS), Tabuan Jaya, Kuching.

Commenting on the programme, Mr. Hallman Bin Haji Sabri, Executive Director of PPKS highlighted, “The Certificate in Safety and Health Officer programme is fully funded under the Golongan Pekerja dan Future Workers (GPFW) scheme. The funding covers both the tuition fees and the examination fees. Trainees who wish to enrol in the programme will only need to pay a Registration Fee of RM 250.00.”

Mr. Hallman added, “There will be two (2) intakes this year – July and August 2019. Each intake is limited to twenty-five (25) trainees. Diploma and Bachelor’s degree holders (preferably from Engineering background) from the following categories are encouraged to submit their applications: Fresh Graduates, Unemployed Graduates, Retrenched Workers or those who have opted for the Voluntary Separation Scheme (VSS). Applicants must be between 21 and 45 years old.”

During the six-month full-time programme, the trainees will attend classes (theory component) for three months at PPKS Campus in Tabuan Jaya. Thereafter, trainees will be required to embark on a three-month Industrial Attachment. Upon completion of the programme and passing the examination, trainees will be awarded the Certificate in Safety and Health Officer by National Institute of Occupational Safety and Health (NIOSH). Those who have completed the programme will be able to apply for a wide range of positions in Occupational Safety and Health across the length and breadth of industry.
