PPKS TREATS UNDERPRIVILEGED TO AN IFTAR DINNER

Sarawak Skills Development Centre (PPKS) celebrates the balminess of the holy month of Ramadhan with children from Yayasan Kemajuan Insan Sarawak (YAKIN) and Baiturramah.
Kuching, Sarawak (June 30th, 2016) – Sarawak Skills Development Centre (PPKS) hosted a ‘Majlis Berbuka Puasa dan Khatamal Quran’ event for 57 children from Yayasan Kemajuan Insan Sarawak (YAKIN) and Baiturramah, at its headquarters office, Tabuan Jaya, recently.
Children and guests were treated to an array and lip-smacking spread of local delicacies by the PPKS MyCafe. Furthermore, to add to the festive celebration mood, the children who were between seven and 17 years of age also presented with festive goodies, courtesy of the PPKS Group of Companies.
Apart from savoring the scrumptious feast, a night was also filled with 15 individuals comprising PPKS Vocational College students and children from YAKIN as well as Baiturramah performed a ‘Khatamal Quran’. The crème de la crème of the event was when PPKS Chairman, Yang Berbahagia Tan Sri Datuk Amar (Dr) Haji Abdul Abdul Aziz bin Dato Haji Husain handed out “duit raya” to the children and PPKS students accompanied by Mr. Hallman Haji Sabri, Executive Director of PPKS.
Ustaz Rizqi Farouq, Surau Darul Ilmi’s chairman in his remarks thanked the co-hosts for hosting and making the most of the event as this annual affair was organized by PPKS Surau Darul Ilmi Committee in collaboration with PPKS Social, Recreational and Sports Club (SRSC) and PPKS MyCafe.
Prior to the ‘iftar’, the children were given a motivational talk by the invited guest, Ustaz Adnan Zain. Also present at the event were Yang Berbahagia Dato Hajah Maznah bt. Dasmi and Yang Berbahagia Tuan Haji Hilmi bin Haji Othman, the management council members of PPKS.
This noble gesture was part of the organization’s ongoing efforts to foster closer ties with communities and making sure the underprivileged are being reached out, as the holy month of Ramadhan is also a time of giving and charity.
