KUCHING – Keeping its innovations in Technical Vocational Training and Education (TVET), Sarawak Skills Development Centre (PPKS) send its four instructors to attend the Train The Trainer (TTT) for Malaysian Meister Program (MMP) undergoing 5 weeks courses of two programs – Meister in Electrical & Electronics and Meister in Automotive.
Upon completing the courses and on returning home, the well-trained PPKS staff shall be regarded as Craftsman. The German Meister model on Craftsmanship is in support of Malaysian TVET framework to create a technical workforce.
Prior sending in the second batch, PPKS previously had sent three of its instructor for Train The Trainer (TTT) for Malaysia Meister Program (MPP) specifically in Mechatronic program. Complementing the breakthrough in TVET particularly in Mechatronic, PPKS would embark on Germany’s tailored program starting with Meister in Mechatronic by next year, in 2017.
Meister Program is a product of the Federation of Malaysian Skills Development Centres (FMSDC) which PPKS is one of its members. The Train The Trainer (TTT) for Malaysia Meister Program (MPP) is endorsed by Department of Skills Development (JPK) and Malaysian Meister Board of Industry.
