KUCHING (23 August, 2016) – Assistant Minister for Native Laws and Customs and Member of the Legislative Assembly N.60 Kakus, Datuk John Sikie Tayai advises rural communities to take advantage of Technical Vocational Education & Training (TVET) programs as the specialization of technical skills is mattered most in the industries.
There were various academic and skills programs that can be pursued by students and by creating awareness of Technical Vocational Education and Training (TVET) at rural areas, this would increase the quality and volume for technical, professional amongst youths and school leavers in rural areas. He said during his first official visit at International College of Advanced Technology Sarawak (i-CATS), a subsidiary of Pusat Pembangunan Kemahiran Sarawak (PPKS)
Furtherance to various initiatives by PPKS/i-CATS for skilling the workforces, The Kakus assemblymen Datuk John Sikie Tayai supports PPKS/i-CATS efforts to intensify awareness in rural areas by conducting activities involving Parents and Teachers Association (PIBG). He applauds PPKS/i-CATS for offering programs that are highly relevant to the workforce needs for the development of the Sarawak Corridor of Renewable Energy (SCORE).
He attended a briefing specifically on PPKS Group and its latest development before touring the facilities. He was accompanied by his political secretary, Mr. Edwin Banta and Mr.Surai Abel . The delegates were welcomed by En.Hallman Sabri, Executive Director PPKS/i-CATS and the management team.
