The Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) creates opportunities in student and staff exchange programs, collaborative research projects and new course development
Kuching, Sarawak (May 18th, 2016) – International College of Advanced Technology Sarawak (i-CATS) one of the Sarawak Skills Development Centre (PPKS) subsidiaries, has entered into a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Kangwon Tourism College, South Korea at the Senate Room, i-CATS West Campus, earlier today.
The MoU was signed by the Mr. Mohamad Isham bin Fauzi, i-CATS Chief Executive Officer, Professor Lee Yeon-Hwa, the Chief Administrator of Kangwon Tourism College and Professor Kim Young-Suk of the Kangwon Tourism College in the presence of Mr. Hallman Haji Sabri, PPKS Executive Director and Dr. Leo Sing Lim, i-CATS Academic Director.
Mr. Hallman, stated ,”This MoU will facilitate the establishment of an academic and educational collaboration between these two institutions which is in line with our objective to produce tourism graduates through our Diploma in Environmental Tourism Management Program who will able to thrive in today’s ever-vibrant global environment.”
At the signing of the memorandum, Hallman also emphasized this developments would tremendously add a new dimension to the tertiary education landscape in Sarawak, as the state has recorded a total of 4.5 million visitors last year.
Mr. Hallman, then thanked Mr. John Kim, the Coordinator of the visit for bringing the Kangwon Tourism College representatives and students to i-CATS.
